S. Albert D. Hanser, Founder and Chairman of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company announced the retirement of two board members, Cheryl Giattini of Sanibel, and Dolph von Arx of Naples, having served the maximum terms allowable by Board bylaws. They served simultaneously on both The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company board and its holding company, SanCap Group, Inc.
“Cheryl has been a strong board member, providing guidance and professional expertise across legal, marketing and public relations matters – always considering the best course of action for our clients as well as our company,” said Hanser. “Her long-standing dedication to this role and her constructive relationships with board members and employees alike demonstrates the character that has built her reputation on Sanibel-Captiva, and we have benefitted greatly by it.”
Giattini is an attorney and public relations/marketing consultant with more than three decades of experience working with clients primarily in the financial services and commercial real estate industries, as well as the non-profit sector. As a full-time Sanibel resident, she has led capital campaigns for the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) to preserve hundreds of acres of wildlife habitat and improve regional water quality.
Regarding Dolph von Arx, Hanser said, “Dolph has always had tremendous confidence in and been so supportive of the Trust Company. It was a pleasure on behalf of our fellow Directors to present Dolph with a plaque of appreciation for his years of dedication, service, and leadership. I could always count on him for his wisdom and expertise and most of all his friendship.”
von Arx is the former Chairman, President and CEO of Planters Lifesavers Company, an affiliate of RJR Nabisco. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President of Thomas J. Lipton, Inc. and a member of its board of directors and executive committee. He retired after having served ten years as chairman of the NCH Healthcare System in Naples and three years as Board Chairman of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, as well as the Regional Business Alliance.
Both Giattini and von Arx leave the board with the gratitude of The Trust Company and will continue to hold the honored title of Board Member, Emeritus.
