History and Hope in Tampa Bay
Posted on November 2, 2016
The Tampa Bay Trust Company recently welcomed clients and friends to attend “History & Hope,” at the JC Newman Cigar Factory in Ybor City. This reception celebrated our local and national history, as well as the hope we share through our men and women in uniform. Trust Company, CEO, Terry Igo and Bobby Newman, Principal of JC Newman Cigar Factory, spoke to approximately 100 guests and introduced veteran heroes WWII B-24 Bombardier & POW, WWII, Irwin Stovroff and Iraq War Veteran, Cpl. Michael Jernigan. Both veterans spoke of their ordeals in war and life, and how the Southeastern Guide Dogs Paws for Patriots program gave them hope and a path forward with their canine companions. Representatives of the Southeastern Guide Dogs organization were present along with a number of guide dogs throughout the evening, who happily accepted scratches under the chin from guests enjoying the reception. Guests also took part in short factory tours through this historic building as employees hand rolled cigars. The evening concluded with indulging in those cigars in the smoking lounge. The event was truly impactful and an honor for The Trust Company to host. Our thanks to both the JC Newman Cigar Factory and Southeastern Guide Dogs for their contributions.
