FIRST WOWPlus PROGRAM OF THE SEASON – Don’t Get Caught in the Dark
Posted on January 18, 2017
The Naples Trust Company held their first women’s program of the season at Wyndemere Country Club on January 17th. For the first time ever, the firm opened two of their programs up to men, as well. “So often the ladies who attend our programs say they wish their husbands had been present to hear the information,” said Carol Boyd, President of The Trust Company, “so we designed two of the programs to include the spouses of our guests.”
The January event was one such presentation entitled, “Don’t Get Caught in the Dark” by Hood Craddock, CPA, Director of Family Office Services at The Trust Company. He focused on how to prepare a spouse for when one may have to face important investment and estate planning decisions alone. Losing a spouse is overwhelming. Many husbands have traditionally taken sole responsibility for managing the family’s finances and estate matters. If both spouses have not been involved in the process, the wife may find herself in the dark if her husband passes before her. Audience members learned about the pitfalls that could be avoided with proper planning for them and their future beneficiaries.
