Al Hanser, Founder and Chairman of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company announced the strategic hire of Edwin C. Ciskowski, CPA as senior vice president and senior portfolio manager. Ciskowski joins The Trust Company with more than 30 years of wealth management experience, most recently from Wells Fargo Asset Management in Chicago, Illinois where he held the position of senior vice president, serving as a securities analyst and portfolio manager.
Earlier he worked at Keeley Asset Management Corp., also in Chicago, as senior vice president and co-portfolio manager for a number of years. Through the majority of his career, Ciskowski has held leadership roles at the firms he’s served, while working in research and analysis, and portfolio management.
“Ed comes to us with a depth of experience and many years working with a variety of clients,” said Hanser. “His investment culture and client-focused nature aligns very well with our own and we’re very pleased that he and his wife have relocated from Chicago to Sanibel-Captiva.” Ciskowski has been a seasonal resident and vacationed with his family on Sanibel for the last 20 years. “We’ve gotten to know Al and several members of The Trust Company team quite well over the years, so this position was an ideal opportunity to make Sanibel our home,” said Ciskowski.
Ciskowski obtained his master’s degree in accountancy from DePaul University, his BBA from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and he is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Hanser also announced the hire of Jeffrey A. Muddell, Senior Vice President, Wealth Services. Muddell will meet with individuals and families to discuss their financial and lifestyle needs and address how The Trust Company can best apply resources to uphold their goals.
Muddell joins the company after twelve years in nonprofit management and philanthropy, primarily in the health care sector. Most recently he served as System Director of Gift Planning for the Lee Health Foundation in Fort Myers, FL where he led strategic planning and management of the fundraising initiative and managed a staff of 13 development specialists. He personally managed a portfolio of major gift individuals, corporate, and foundation donors and prospects, and closed on major gifts in support of critical needs.
“We’ve known Jeff for some time and are impressed by his genuine ability to relate to people and their needs,” said Al Hanser, Founder and Chairman of The Trust Company. “His experience in healthcare aligns well with how we approach client relationships at The Trust Company. Jeff and his family are also Sanibel residents and are engrained in the local community. He is a welcome addition to the team.”
Prior to moving to Southwest Florida in 2017, Jeff spent 18 years in the Orlando area where he led fundraising efforts at Orlando Health Foundation, served as Vice President at Pace Center for Girls and Senior Fundraising Consultant at Winkler Group. During his time in the nonprofit sector, he helped a variety of organizations raise tens of millions of dollars, while building relationships and earning the trust of high net worth individuals and families from across the country.
Muddell holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Florida’s Warrington School of Business and is in the process of earning his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Miami and began his professional career in broadcasting and journalism.
Both Ciskowski and Muddell reside on Sanibel and can be found at The Trust Company’s local Palm Ridge Road office.
