The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company has been named a Best Place to Work in Money Management for 2016 by Pensions & Investments, the global news source of money management. Pensions & Investments held the fifth-annual survey and recognition program dedicated to identifying and recognizing the best employers in the money management industry.
“Again this year, it is clear that what makes firms great employers isn’t necessarily about salaries. Many firms were cited for their culture and benefits,” said P&I Editor Amy B. Resnick. “Our surveys found that the employers on the list were much more likely to offer things like flex time, telecommuting, child and elder care, family leave, job sharing and adoption assistance. Further, employees at these top-ranked firms most often cited their colleagues, the firm’s culture and benefits as the things that make it a great place to work.”
S. Albert D. Hanser, Founder and Chairman of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company said, “Since our founding in 2001, we have looked upon our employees as family.” He went on to say, “We want our team to be strong and secure. That’s one of the reasons we provide a generous and comprehensive employee benefit plan and offer the opportunity to become a vested shareholder in the company. Everyone here wants this to be the best wealth management firm available.”
The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company and its divisions of The Naples Trust Company and The Tampa Bay Trust Company all share a corporate culture that believes in taking care of their employees, clients, shareholders and their communities. The firm is locally owned and operated, and holds an intimate knowledge and appreciation of the residential and business communities they serve. Taking great care to build a team of people who represent their communities, the firm has doubled its number of employees over the last three years. In November of 2016 they expanded once again to the markets of Marco Island, south of Naples and the community of Belleair in Tampa Bay.
Pensions & Investments partnered with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying great places to work, to conduct the two-part survey process of employers and their employees. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, which was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation, and the combined scores determined the top companies.
