Vanderhorst Joins Tampa Bay Trust Company Team

Andrew Vanderhorst, CFA, CFP®, CLU®, has been named senior vice president and senior portfolio manager at The Tampa Bay Trust Company. His responsibilities include providing research, oversight and assessment of client portfolios amid the company’s expanding relationships in the Tampa Bay market; and he is a member of the Family Office Services Group.

Andrew will bring an additional perspective in investment analysis and portfolio management in serving our Tampa Bay and Winter Haven clients. ”
Most recently, he held the position of vice president and portfolio manager at Northern Trust in Tampa. Since 2012, he managed the investments for approximately 100 client and nonprofit relationships and was responsible for over $600 million of investable assets across public and private markets.
Prior to rejoining Northern, he was with JPMorgan Chase & Co., in Chicago, as a Financial Education Consultant. He traveled throughout the US as a subject matter expert working with Fortune 1000 companies’ retirement plan participants.
Vanderhorst began his career in the trust department of Northern Trust in Chicago. Soon after, his career shifted to investment management where he developed and conducted the full range of investment and analytic skills to serve client portfolios. He relocated to the Naples, FL office in 2006 working with the investment team there.
Vanderhorst received his Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Chicago, and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He holds the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter, which is the landmark designation of The American College; respected internationally as risk management’s highest standard of knowledge and trust. He is currently serving on the board of CFA Society Tampa Bay, as well as the executive committee for Florida CFA Societies, and on the investment committee of United Way – Suncoast.
