Meinen Joins Sanibel Captiva Trust Company

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Meinen, CFP®, CTFA, Vice President, Client Services & Trust Operations at the company’s Palm Ridge Road office on Sanibel. Meinen’s responsibilities include serving as a primary point of contact for her clients by managing the daily business of account intake and administration, cash transfers, and generating trust and tax documents among other assignments. Meinen joins The Trust Company after an established career at Busey Bank / Investor’s Security Trust Company of Fort Myers, FL where she held the position of Vice President, Fiduciary Advisor. She managed a $135 million book of business, serving as a personal relationship manager to wealth management clients, placing trades and assisting team members in clients’ investment reviews. She is adept at completing Reg 9 compliance reviews and contributed to the elevation of the overall client experience.
Earlier at Busey Bank, she held the position of Portfolio Manager/Investment Manager for 17 years where she assisted clients in identifying their investment objectives, determined their risk profiles and reviewed client accounts. She also created, monitored and maintained investment policies and procedures. From 1993 to 2003, Meinen built a career at SunTrust Bank of both Central Florida and then Southwest Florida consisting of roles as General Accountant, Lead Reconciling Specialist and Personal Asset Management Representative.
Meinen is a graduate of the Cannon Trust School, holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation, and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Estate Planning Council of Lee County.
