Amy A. Lord, CFA, presented on “The Art of Reading the Wall Street Journal” for The Tampa Bay Trust Company’s WOW Series for women. Twenty-four women gathered at the Trust Company offices for this fun, interactive workshop. “If reading The WSJ isn’t part of your daily routine, this paper can be a bit daunting,” said one guest. “It was incredibly helpful to have a professional portfolio manager walk us through the key steps to identifying and gleaning what we really needed to know.” Vice President and host, Carla Powers explained that the “Women. Opportunity. Wealth” series is primarily designed to encourage women who want to be better informed about finance and investing. “So many women, whether they are working, volunteering or retired, want more information about global and domestic events and how they affect their investments,” she said. “Amy did a terrific job of highlighting what information is most important and what is just noise, so reading the paper is manageable and informative.”
